The unique Russian underwater museum Alley of Leaders is located on the cape Tarkhankut (village Olenivka) in Crimea, 100 m from the shore at a depth of 12-15 meters of the Black Sea. So, for visiting it, it’s necessary to have at least the initial diving skills. The unique underwater museum has a collection of sculptures and busts of the leaders of the former Soviet Union of different times, and not only them. Today underwater museum “Alley of leaders” has more than 50 different exhibits.

The original museum was founded by a snorkeler from Donetsk Vladimir Borumensky. With his efforts in 1992, appeared the first “residents” of the Tarkhankut underwater kingdom – busts of Lenin, Karl Marx and Klim Voroshilov. Borumelsky said that he planned to place close with these comrades – Mao Zedong, Mussolini and Napoleon. Gradually the collection grew bigger thanks to the museum’s enthusiasts, divers from other cities.

Slowly in the underwater museum, appeared the whole gallery, divided into two rooms by the original arch. One room has become a haven politicians time of the October Revolution. There, Lenin stands hand by hand with looking out from under eyebrows Karl Marx. Next to this couple lined Voroshilov, Gorky, Ostrovsky, and a little further – Stalin neighboring famous Kirov and Dzerzhinsky. On the other side of the arch there is a hall with sculptures of the classics of the world and national art and literature.

The Black Sea underwater museum has quite rare exhibits that can’t be found even on land. For example, on the seabed you can be met by Lenin, who leads by the hand a little boy. This is a single-piece sculpture, can’t be found elsewhere in the former USSR. The idea of ”Lenin and children” was interpreted differently – as a leader who sits on the bench with the children on his lap.
The entrance to the submarine canyon is “guarded” by three figures of the Bolshevik, the Miner from Donetsk, and a sailor with The PPSh.
