Zlatoust steel engraving – Russian folk art craft that originated at the beginning of the XIX century, in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region now). They absorbed rich traditions of Russian and Western European gunsmiths of VII-XVIII centuries, but soon the Ural engravers created their own original style of decorating weapons. Zlatoust weapons gained popularity not only in Russia but far beyond its borders.
