Lianozovsky Park is located in the North-Eastern District of Moscow. Now it is quite difficult to imagine that once, at the beginning of the 20th century, it was open to residents of the local summer cottage village of Lianozovo. Now these places are part of a huge city, all around there are new buildings, and Lianozovsky Park in Moscow is a kind of oasis for the inhabitants of the metropolis. 16 hectares of silence, tranquility, nature.
Lianozovsky Park History
In general, this place has been known since the 16th century, and the settlement was then located on a river with the funny name Samotyshka (there is a less funny version – Samoteka, that is, “flowing itself”). But the village was ruined by the guardsmen. At the end of the 19th century, the place was bought by oil industrialist Georgy Lianozov. It was then that the village of Lianozovo appeared, which at the beginning of the 20th century became a dacha.
Lianozovsky received the status of a culture and recreation park in 1951. But the dachas were still preserved. They began to be demolished in the 1960s, when Lianozovo became part of Moscow.

Today, the Konstantin Vasiliev Museum of Slavic Culture is located in the only dacha that has survived since that time. Although the artist himself did not live here, the house once belonged to the industrialist Stepan Lianozov, who built it for his beloved.
After the 1917 revolution, military personnel were quartered here. In the 1980s, they wanted to open a restaurant, but they were afraid because of Mikhail Gorbachev’s anti-alcohol stance. In the late 1990s, the aforementioned museum was organized, in which fans of the artist’s work collected more than 400 of his paintings. However, between the museum and Vasiliev’s heirs, disputes flared up every now and then over who should own the paintings. Once it even went as far as setting fire to the third floor.
Well, the Lianozovsky Park in Moscow was landscaped in 2012-2014, the attractions were installed, all the playgrounds were put in order – it’s a pleasure to walk at any time of the year!
