Kamchatka Volcanoes are located in the far eastern region of Russia, and are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire – an area in the ocean, with most of the active volcanoes and a lot of earthquakes. It is difficult to say exactly how many volcanoes are located on the Kamchatka peninsula. Various sources mention from a few hundred to more than a thousand volcanoes and they are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. At present, there are about 28 active volcanoes among them, last erupted about 1000 or even 4000 years ago.

Khodutka – a potentially active volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, and Priemysh, an extinct volcano, located north-west of the Khodutka volcano, refers to the more ancient formations. Volcano Semyachik. The crater looks like a deep crater with a diameter of about 700 m, slightly oval. Can be also seen from a helicopter only. And for all the pics for some reason – only lake in the frame.

Kronotsky volcano. Active volcano on the east coast of Kamchatka. The height of 3528 m, the top – ribbed cone.

Kluchevskoy volcano. The current stratovolcano on the east of Kamchatka. With a height of 4850 m, the highest active volcano in Eurasia. The volcano is about 7,000 years old.

Kizimen – an active volcano on the Kamchatka peninsula. On November 11, 2010 began a new eruption, accompanied by the powerful outpouring of lava flow. At the foot of its mythical hot springs are located the fashionable tourist centers. But to get there is possible only by helicopter.
