In the farm Nedvigovka, located on the banks of the Severny Donets River, there is the Don Military History Museum. In this place, which received the name “Mius Front”, during the Great Patriotic War, fierce battles between Soviet troops and the German fascist invaders took place. They lasted from December 1941 to July 1942, and then from February to August 1943.
Every year, museum staff and history buffs jointly carry out large-scale restoration of various battles. They use museum equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War, in particular, the “Breakthrough of the Mius-Front”.

The Nazis created the Mius Front as a defensive redoubt in 1941. The main line of defense began off the coast of the Sea of Azov east of Taganrog, then passed along the Mius River.
The Germans thoroughly strengthened the defensive line, which covered about 800 settlements, and its depth was sometimes up to 11 kilometers.
During the war, Soviet troops broke through it twice. The losses of the Red Army totaled 150 thousand people.
